Concerned

I started this blog today so that I could write down my concerns and thoughts.  I have trouble sleeping at times because there is so much on my mind.  I wonder sometimes if there is anyone else out there that feels the same.  When I post important issues up on facebook, I don't get a response.  Posting something about food or some activity I have done, get's all kinds of likes and responses.  Confusion and frustration set in for me.  Am I weird, are people shallow, scared or just plain don't want to know anything?
Where are we engaging people on issues of life?  Life right now is full of turmoil and strife.  People I see at work are frustrated but can't talk about things on the job.  I have felt like our country is spinning out of control.  Which makes me feel like my life is about to spin out of control.  We have elections coming up, housing market has peoples houses upside down, to much personal debt, religions being told what to do and not to do, money being printed with nothing to back it, food being engineered and made into a monopoly, countries financially failing, GM Genocides, Monsanto's lawsuits against farmers, the war and the fact that radical extreme Islamists want to take over the world.  The sad thing is, is that there is so much more.
I am hoping that this will give me an outlet.  I am sad and frustrated.  I am a grammy of 6 wonderful grandchildren.  My hope is for them to have a better future.  Things are looking grim to me and I want us and people to be ready.  Will we be there for each other or will there be fighting in the streets and neighbor be against neighbor?  I don't feel safe.......do you?

  1. My beloved sister, I am always here. I see every post you ever post. Do not be concerned about so many things. Remember to watch and pray. Matt 6:25-34 tells us that God is watching out for us. Yes, there are scary things going on in this world, but we are different. We are called to hold Him up in praise and to read His word daily. Our pastor again quoted a scripture to us today, as he often does: 2 Ch 7:14..."If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear fro Heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land..." Always pray for your country, your president, your husband, your children and your grandchildren. God is always faithful. He will always honor our prayers. He always has your back...

    Love you to pieces,
    your sis, Dar

  2. Thank you sis! I know what you say is true. But, there are so many that do not. My heart aches with so much pain, evil and hurt going on. I also understand that it will get worse and we maybe dead before it gets better. I do know the end of the story, just never thought I would see it happen. Is there more that we can do? Prayer is our best option but is there more to this? Is there an action we can do? A phone call we can make. One person can't stop a government and corporations from destroying this country. We have taken our freedom for granted and not protected it.

    I love you to, sis!!

  3. I agree with Dar, we can have a sense of peace throughout everything that happens, but I do think it's good to express your concerns and frustrations. I think the media and people in general have become so complacent that when you post concerns about our food supply in serious danger, threats of genocide... that the immediate response in someone's mind is 'conspiracy theory'. For some reason, we americans tend to think it can't be so, and would rather not 'like' a facebook post that would lead their friends to believe they are connected to such thoughts. On the other hand, there are people who are studying these things. Our food is in serious jeopardy, the days of American farmers leading the world... are rapidly diminishing, but it's hard for people to believe it, there is a prevailing belief that America can always bounce back which is a serious lack of understanding of what bio-tech mixed with corporate greed, mixed with the public unawares could do (just to pick one of the topics). I say, go for it, vent, discuss, try to illicit response to start a discussion.

  4. UPDATE... Since the discussion started with food stuff, a coworker's wife is deep into our food and physical health and recommended a web site for study... www.westonaprice.org

  6. I went to the www.westonaprice.org site and viewed several of the videos. They are very interesting. They make a great case for eating the old traditional way before industrialized food processing came about. Eat whole foods and process them the old fashion way. I really liked it. The organization feels very strongly about Dr.Prices findings and give us ways to live by them. But,it is an ugly beast we will be fighting.
Industrialized food is a monster that tugs at our pocket books. It is cheaper for me to buy the boxed food. How is that? They do so much processing and use huge machines to do it. Yet, it cost less. To eat healthy organic, no sprayed, hormone free food you pay so much more. Why is that? It takes less processing, less chemicals etc.. but we pay more. Households turn to packaged items because it is cheaper to feed there families. In the long haul though.....we pay big time in our illnesses and disease. Now with GM(genetically modified) seeds we will have the most severe processed foods ever.
What are we to do? Can we knock this demon off it's high horse? Can we go back to a simpler time, a slower way of living? Can we gather our food from our local growers. In other countries they go to the market everyday for there daily supply. My co-worker told me she did that when she lived in Japan. She says she miss doing it. Is it possible for us to say enough is enough?
The dollar speaks volumes! We may want to make change and look at our pocket books and say how. It is a frustrating time for us to live in. I think it would be great if towns and cities contributed to the farmers crops financially (co-op) and got what they need from them. We the people help each other. The farmer could really farm his land with many varieties of goods to supply the local population. I know that we do this small scale but I am talking large scale. I am talking about taking power from big businesses and leaving it in our own communities. Let them know we don't want there yucky stuff anymore!! Just my venting?

  7. I think the big corporate thingy is beyond the control of you and I. Just sharing with others your concerns, see if it can become enough of a concern to others little by little and put your money where your mouth is. We have to do our part. Other than than, I don't believe anything should concern us to a point of worry, our God is bigger than that.

  8. Daniel and I have decided to head toward a more whole foods diet for our family. It is a lot more work, but we have really enjoyed it. A few ways to do this and save money. Use whole chickens instead of boneless skinless chicken breasts in recipes. Buy in bulk and store in airtight containers. We are getting chickens this week and raised our own pig last year. We are also blessed to have family that hunts and is generous with their meat. We are hoping to plant a garden this spring with primarily heirloom vegetables so we can harvest the seeds as well. Freezer cooking also saves time. =) We have been very disturbed and worried for our children's health and future. Many times you don't know who to trust. We recently found out soy milk can cause many female cancers and reproductive issues, the FDA knew and kept it quiet because it is a money maker. We had been giving to Charis for years. I also have a friend who died recently from brain cancer we believe was caused by acne medication. She was only 28. We do believe it is time to return to a simpler mostly self sustaining lifestyle, and to being more informed consumers in healthcare. We should know what we are putting in our body and not just take a doctors word for it. Unfortunately with the current drive toward a socialist state we may not even have that choice much longer. My prayer is for the hearts of man and a great revival in this nation. Only then will the corruption cease.

  9. Charity, I think it is wonderful that you and Daniel are doing all you can. Our health and the health of our children is so very important. Especially, if we won't have the healthcare anymore. I honesty grew up believing that the FDA had my back!! Naive, I have been. I really don't know why we have the FDA program in place if it has no function. It is wasting the tax payers money. Oh....maybe it's a lush fund!!! Sorry, sarcasm.
I have to agree with you about a simpler life, being informed, sharing the info, having more of a self sustaining lifestyle is where we need to go. I think that it all has to do with the heart and what condition it is in. Thanks for blogging with me!!
